London is one of the world’s greatest cities, and the IOE is fortunate to be based at its heart. Bloomsbury, home to the Institute and several other University of London colleges, has a rich literary history and is considered to be the intellectual and cultural centre of London.
Our campus is close to Russell Square, in a quiet and charming corner of the city. Virtually on our doorstep are the British Museum, repository for some of the most important historical artefacts on the planet, and the British Library, whose collection includes over 150 million items. Beyond Bloomsbury, the famous West End is a major attraction with its theatres, restaurants, galleries, bars and shops. The historic City of London is nearby, too, and, beyond it, the trendy East End. Many public parks, garden squares, markets and museums are easily accessible via public transport.
Our transport links are enviable. We are directly connected to London Heathrow Airport via the Tube’s Piccadilly Line. And exploring the UK is easy: national rail links at Euston and Kings Cross are within walking distance, and all of Europe is accessible from St Pancras International Station, with direct trains to Paris and Brussels.
